Chromia Privacy Policy
Effective from: October 24, 2026 Controller / app developer: Maurizio Zucchi, contact: design.dev.pl@gmail.com
Chromia is a color-memory game: the app shows a color and the player recreates it from memory. This policy explains what data the app processes, where it goes and how you can delete it.
1. In short
- You can play without an account. Then your scores, stats and settings stay only on your phone.
- An account is optional (sign in with Google or Apple). With an account your scores are saved in the cloud, you can add friends and you appear on the Daily Color leaderboard — under a name and color you choose, never your real name.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings → Account → "Delete account").
- The app sends crash reports so we can fix bugs. You can turn them off in Settings.
- The app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking tools, and the developer does not sell any data.
2. Playing without an account — data only on your phone
| Data | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Game stats (rounds, scores, streaks, records) | to show your progress on the "Stats" screen | app storage on your phone |
| Recent round history (up to 200: color to remember, your color, score, time) | your color memory profile — which way you usually drift | app storage on your phone |
| Hidden difficulty and Daily Color state | adapting difficulty and one Daily Color attempt per day | app storage on your phone |
| Settings (theme, language, sound, haptics, picker, crash reports) | so the app looks and works the way you like | app storage on your phone |
| When you play and how you respond to reminders (only if you turn them on) | so the Daily Color reminder arrives at the time you usually play | the app's storage on your phone |
| Random guest identifier | telling the player's data apart on this device (does not identify you and is never sent) | app storage on your phone |
Without an account this data is not sent anywhere — not even to the developer. You can delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing its data in the system settings.
3. Account (optional)
You create an account by signing in with Google or Apple (Settings → Account, or the offer after the tutorial). Accounts run on Google's Firebase: Firebase Authentication (sign-in) and Cloud Firestore (game data, servers in the European Union).
| Data | Why | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier and the data Google or Apple provide at sign-in (email address and, for Google, also name and profile photo) | signing in and recognizing your account on other phones | nobody in the app — stored by Firebase Authentication; the app neither shows nor uses it |
| Name and color avatar (you choose them) | so friends and other players can recognize you | signed-in players: your friends and the leaderboard |
| Invite code | adding friends | the people you give it to |
| Game progress (stats, last 200 rounds, difficulty state, Daily Color) | backup and moving your scores between phones | only you |
| Score summary (rounds, average score, best ΔE, mastery level, Daily Color streak) | comparing with friends | your friends |
| Friends list | comparison and the friends leaderboard | you and that friend |
| Daily Color scores and weekly sum (with your name and color) | the leaderboard | all signed-in players |
We never show your real name, email address or photo to anyone. The app has no chat, sends no messages between players and has no access to your contacts.
4. Deleting your account and data
- In the app: Settings → Account → "Delete account". After you confirm and sign in once more, we delete your profile, name, invite code, cloud progress, friends list, leaderboard entries and the Firebase Authentication account itself. For Apple accounts we also revoke the Sign in with Apple token. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- By email: if you no longer have the app, write to design.dev.pl@gmail.com from the address linked to the account (or tell us your player name). We will delete the account and data within 30 days.
- Scores saved on your phone stay there — you can keep playing without an account or delete them by uninstalling the app.
5. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
We use Google's Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. When the app crashes, the next time it is online it sends a report containing:
- the error trace (where in the code it happened) and the app state at the time,
- device information: model, OS version, app version, language, free memory,
- a random installation identifier (it does not identify you or your phone outside this app),
- basic session information (e.g. how long the app was running) to gauge how widespread a problem is.
Reports do not contain your scores, colors, game history, account identifier or player name. They are used only to find and fix bugs and never for advertising. Google keeps crash reports for 90 days.
You can turn this off: Settings → About → "Crash reports".
6. Legal basis, retention and transfers
- We process account data to provide the features you ask for by creating an account (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep it until you delete the account.
- We process crash reports based on our legitimate interest in a stable app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), for 90 days.
- The service provider is Google (Firebase), acting as a processor. Game data is stored in the EU; sign-in data and crash reports may also be processed outside the European Economic Area under standard contractual clauses. More: Privacy and Security in Firebase, Google Privacy Policy.
- All data is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We do not sell it or share it with other companies.
7. Permissions
- Vibration — gentle confirmations in the game (can be turned off in the app's Settings).
- Internet — crash reports and, if you have an account, cloud scores, friends and the leaderboard. The game works fully offline.
- Notifications — only if you turn on the Daily Color reminder in Settings (at most one a day). Reminders are scheduled on your phone, with no server; turn them off in the app or in system settings.
The app does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.
8. Children
The game is not directed at children. An account is meant for people who can create a Google or Apple account on their own in their country; younger players can play without an account — then no data leaves the phone (apart from crash reports, which can be turned off).
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data. For privacy matters write to design.dev.pl@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl), or the authority in your country.
10. Changes
We will announce changes to this policy by updating this page and the "Effective from" date.
